Bio
A former music industry professional, a music collector, an open-format DJ, a producer, and a curator with a taste for eclectic music.
Culminating in Houston Texas, The Regal Eagle was raised on roots music by being immersed in the vibrant blues scene. His Father was a well-respected blues drummer who was the go-to for many Houston blues legends. TRE grew up watching his Father play with legends in bars, clubs, and historic juke joints. It didn't take long for him to follow in his Father's rhythmic footsteps and pick up a bass guitar. After playing in bands for a few years TRE realized he had a knack for the other side of music, the business side. In 2004 TRE moved to Austin Texas to pursue a career in the music industry. He started off in Austin as a DJ/Host for "The Bad Show" on Kaos Radio, a local pirate radio station. He would play anything from punk to blues, to hip-hop, and everything in between. On "The Bad Show" he would bring on local artists, promote their upcoming events, conduct interviews, and showcase their music. He started hosting fundraiser shows for the radio station and the popularity of his events grew over time as did the respect from the local music community. After leaving Kaos Radio, TRE continued to produce events but on a larger scale, at larger well-known venues around Austin. The respect from the local music community continued to grow alongside his success in well-crafted events. In Feb. of 2008, he launched his artist services company, The Versatile Syndicate. His company would provide management, booking, public relations, tour management, and live production services to local artists on a sliding scale. For him, it was always about the music. As his roster of artists grew, as well as his roster's popularity. Things were really turning a corner for one of the bands TRE worked closely with when tragedy struck in Oct. 2009. A freak housefire took the life of one of his Best Friends and most talented artists Austin has embraced. This was a HUGE blow for TRE. Not long after this tragedy, The Versatile Syndicate was shut down. During the following 2 years, TRE continued to collect music and grow his vinyl collection. Eventually, he would pick up a couple of turntables and a mixer to use as an instrument of healing after the loss of his close friend. Naturally, he went back to his roots and started spinning funk, soul, and blues for his friend's parties and small events. It didn't take long before his forte expanded, evolved, and started to take shape. Through his industry experience, eclectic taste, sense of community, and evolving techniques, The Regal Eagle has performed in many States in the US, held several residencies in various cities, graced a few International stages, made a home for himself in Houston, Denver, Los Angeles, and back to his current residence of Austin, TX.
